AI, with a way
forward.

You’re hearing about AI everywhere you turn, and you may be wondering whether your competitors are already ahead. Maybe you’ve tried a tool or two without seeing much change. Maybe you don’t know where to start.

I start with you, picking one process that costs you every day: a quote that takes three days, an invoice typed in by hand, a project you don’t find out lost money until month end. I learn how the work actually gets done, build a system that gets the right information to the right people when they need it, and work with your team until it becomes part of their day.

The hours come back, the mistakes get caught early, and you see what’s happening as it happens instead of in last month’s report.

How it works

It starts with a conversation. No charge.

Orders get re-checked against a spreadsheet before anything moves.

Have a process like this?

Bring me one that’s costing you time or hiding what’s happening. We’ll talk through it and decide whether it’s worth solving.

What it’s built from

Your tools, your permissions.

I build on what you already run, inside the access your IT already controls. Your documents stay under your control and never train anyone’s AI.

Before anything new.

Most businesses pay for more software than they use. Part of the work is finding what you have that could be doing more.

Any model.

The AI model is the part that changes. Your business knowledge is what I build, and it works with whichever model is best this year.

Your system, documents and spreadsheets stay where they are, inside your own permissions. What I build connects to them, and to an AI model that is the part that changes: it can be swapped for another.

What it adds up to

Less paid for the same work.

The repetitive hours stop. You decide what the freed time is worth.

More from your best people.

The people who know your business spend their day on decisions and customers, not re-keying.

Fewer surprises.

Nothing lives in one person’s head, errors get caught before they ship, and you know which jobs lost money before the month ends.

We start with one department. Each one builds on the last, so the next improvement doesn’t start from scratch, and one department’s decisions can see what the others know.

Most departments run on their own.

About

If the answer is “don’t build it,” I’ll tell you that too.

I started on the production line at James Skinner Baking, then spent a few months in each department before moving into marketing. Over sixteen years the business grew from $20M to $350M, and I learned where the hours in a real workday actually go, and how a problem in one department usually starts in another.

Then I taught myself to build. CPG Canary, an AI research and strategy platform for food and beverage brands, is mine. I built it solo, and it runs in production today.

Most people who know business can’t build, and most people who can build don’t know business. I do both, for Midwest businesses, one problem at a time. And if the answer is “don’t build it,” I’ll tell you that too.

Based in Omaha. AI programs through MIT and Vanderbilt.
